Sara Lucas-Briggs
Sara Lucas-Briggs was born and raised in Newport Beach, CA. Her parents were both from Pasadena, CA, they married and moved to Newport Beach in the early 1960’s where they raised a family. Sara is the youngest of 3 children and was involved in many youth clubs and youth sports during her early childhood years. In 8th grade, she thought she would grow up to be a proofreader. She had been given the opportunity to be a teacher’s aid for her favorite 7th grade English teacher and she loved it. She and her red pen to make all the corrections. The proofreader job never happened but that’s ok. This is where she learned she had great attention to detail from that point forward. In high school, she studied hard, took her college prep classes seriously, and played tennis while attending Newport Harbor High School. After graduation, she attended college in Tempe, AZ at Arizona State University, she was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority for 4 years, and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from the College of Public Programs in Recreation Management and also received a Certificate from ASU’s American Humanics Program in Youth Agency Administration 501(c)3 Non-Profit work. She married, got her AZ Real Estate License and had one son. This marriage ended in divorce. She went on to be a mother and work full time as an AZ real estate sales agent. She then met her current husband Allen Briggs. He had moved from Maine to Arizona. They fell in love and married in 2006. She continued on with her real estate sales career and opened her own real estate brokerage in 2014 named Briggs Realty. She was the Designated Broker/Owner for 8 years and sold the brokerage to HomeServices of America in 2022. She and her husband are now retired, live in South Carolina in the winter months and Maine in the summer months. Their Maine home is in Jonesport and it’s close to town where she can listen and watch this working lobster town in action. This book was written at their 1800 year built home’s kitchen table in Jonesport Maine summer of 2024.
